Oil on Masonite, Collection of Museo Dolores Olmedo, Xochimilco, MexicoThe High Museum of Art in collaboration with the Art Gallery of Ontario presents “Frida & Diego: Passion, Politics, and Painting” an exhibition which juxtaposes some of the best examples of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera’s work. On view until May 12, 2013, the show pairs together works by the Mexican masters chronologically and according to themes, including maternity, Mexican identity, and portraiture.
Presenting around 140 works primarily drawn from the collection of Mexico’s Museo Dolores Olmedo, the Jacques and Natasha Gelman Collection of Mexican Art, and the Galería Arvil, this exhibition is a must-see.
